Visitor Information

As in the days of the Saxon monastery when hospitality was a policy of the community, so our aim is to make your visit a happy one.

At Bede’s Bakehouse a warm welcome with a hot meal is possible; historic guides are on hand to give guided tours.

Group parties can plan tours, conferences, meals, concert bookings, as may individuals, though we are happy to greet visitors within our opening times.

 

Parking Facilities

Car parking facilities are available within the church grounds as well as a large car park at the National Glass Centre close by.

 

Transport Facilities

The closest Metro station is St. Peter’s, which is approximately a 5-10 minute walk away from the church.

Buses are available from Sunderland City Centre and those wishing to could make the 15-20 minute walk from the city centre, over the Wearmouth Bridge.
